DAP (Delivered at Place) is an Incoterm 2020 under which the seller delivers the goods to the named place and bears export clearance and carriage costs, while the buyer is responsible for import clearance, duties, and taxes at the destination. Import clearance encompasses all customs and documentary formalities that the buyer or their customs broker must perform upon arrival of the goods, including registration with customs authorities, payment of import duties and consumption taxes, and where applicable, inspections and release by the relevant authorities. Unlike DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), where the seller assumes these obligations, the buyer bears the financial and timing risk of the import procedures under DAP.
