Cathay Cargo es la marca de carga de Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, la aerolínea de la Región Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong. Detrás del nombre no hay una sociedad propia: el operador de las aeronaves y la parte contratante del conocimiento aéreo es Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, cuyas acciones cotizan en la bolsa de Hong Kong, al igual que las de sus accionistas principales Swire Pacific y Air China. Al grupo Cathay pertenecen además la aerolínea de carga Air Hong Kong y el operador de handling Cathay Cargo Terminal. Cathay Cargo opera como transportista mixto. Su flota cargueros propia suma 20 Boeing 747: 14 B747-8F y seis B747-400ERF (a 27 de mayo de 2026). A ello se añaden ocho Airbus A350F pedidos: seis del pedido de 2023 y dos más mediante derechos de compra ejercidos en mayo de 2026. Cathay Cargo comercializa asimismo la capacidad de bodega de la red de pasajeros del grupo, que sirve más de 100 destinos en todo el mundo. El hub es el Aeropuerto Internacional de Hong Kong (HKG), señalado por Airports Council International como el aeropuerto de carga más activo del mundo quince veces desde 2010. La manipulación corre a cargo del Cathay Cargo Terminal del propio grupo, en servicio desde 2013. Para los transitarios: el designador IATA es CX, el código OACI CPA y el prefijo AWB 160, de modo que un conocimiento aéreo adopta la forma 160-12345678. Para los envíos de exportación desde Hong Kong rige íntegramente el conocimiento aéreo electrónico (e-AWB) desde el 1 de enero de 2011. Junto a la carga general, Cathay Cargo ofrece las soluciones especializadas Cathay Priority, Cathay Pharma, Cathay Fresh, Cathay Live Animal, Cathay Dangerous Goods, Cathay Secure, Cathay Courier, Cathay Mail y Cathay Expert; se aceptan las nueve clases de mercancías peligrosas. Cathay Cargo posee las certificaciones IATA CEIV Pharma, Fresh, Live Animals y Lithium Batteries, además de la membresía en Cargo iQ.
