C&A Engages ID Logistics for Transportation and Store Supply in Germany and the Netherlands Fashion company C&A has selected ID Logistics Germany as a new logistics partner for parts of its supply chain in Germany and the Netherlands. The collaboration encompasses transportation and distribution services for hanging and lying goods between C&A's own distribution centers as well as the supply of stores in the Netherlands.Why C&A Chose ID Logistics According to C&A, ID Logistics impressed with a scalable transport concept and high throughput speed. A central challenge is the high volume fluctuations due to seasonality, explains Ingrid Ebner, Chief Supply Chain Officer of C&A Europe. When delivering winter and summer collections, these can reach up to 60 percent at peak times. Also decisive for the selection was ID Logistics' ability to seamlessly integrate into C&A's existing processes. The holistic approach, which considers transportation, service, and IT as well as emissions, also played a role. ID Logistics Germany assumes the following tasks as part of the collaboration: Domestic German transportation of hanging and lying goods between C&A distribution centers Distribution (last mile) in the Netherlands with supply of approximately 100 C&A stores Sorting of goods at the Dutch logistics hub in Tilburg before delivery Use of low-emission and zero-emission vehicles on the last mile in the Netherlands In the domestic full load segment, ID Logistics works with its own leased swap bodies and established subcontractors, from which the company has secured long-term capacity. Swap bodies are to be made available overnight at the distribution centers precisely for further distribution, even if quantities multiply in the short term.
