Roughly 4 million tonnes of cargo and some 500 vessel calls pass through Siam Seaport each year, making this multipurpose facility on the eastern Gulf of Thailand a serious break-bulk and bulk alternative to its container-focused neighbour, Laem Chabang. Operated as Kerry Siam Seaport, it handles bulk, break-bulk, conventional, RoRo, semi-container and chemical cargoes, with up to six ocean vessels berthing simultaneously and units as large as 136,000 DWT accepted. Its 20-hectare depot includes dedicated sugar sheds, molasses tanks and open yards for project and heavy-lift consignments. Road and rail links along Thailand's Eastern Seaboard corridor connect the quays to Bangkok and the industrial zones of Rayong and Chonburi. Shippers needing pure container services route through adjacent Laem Chabang, while conventional cargo close to the capital moves via the Port of Bangkok (Klong Toey).
