About This Seaport
Operated by Rønne Havn A/S, the port of Rønne (UN/LOCODE DK RNN) is by far the largest commercial harbour on the Danish Baltic island of Bornholm, with over 3,000 vessel calls a year. More than 1 million tonnes of dry and liquid bulk move across its quays annually, and the port has reinvented itself from a ferry-and-freight harbour into an international industrial and supply base, including work for Baltic offshore wind. Deepened basins of up to around 11 metres and long quays handle bulk, project and general cargo. On the ferry side, BornholmsLinjen links Rønne with Ystad in Sweden and Køge on Zealand, plus Sassnitz in Germany and seasonal sailings to Świnoujście in Poland. Bunker fuel is available and limited repair facilities with a small dry dock are on hand. Large-scale container liner traffic is not a Rønne function; containerised consignments are better served via Copenhagen-Malmö (CMP) or Køge. For forwarders, Rønne is the natural choice for Bornholm-related bulk, project and ferry freight.
