About This Seaport
Two RoRo ramps, two ferry berths and a general-cargo/bulk quay make up the commercial Faergehavn section of Hundested Havn, alongside an older fishing harbour, at the entrance to Isefjord on Denmark's Kattegat coast in north Zealand. The defining activity is the Hundested–Rørvig ferry, which crosses the fjord mouth in about 25 minutes with up to 26 sailings a day in peak season. Channel depths of roughly 3 to 5 metres restrict the port to smaller vessels; a modest container terminal was added in the 1990s, but the depth rules out deep-sea box traffic. Dry bulk, project cargo and RoRo units can be handled, complemented by fishing and occasional cruise calls. Road links connect Hundested to the Greater Copenhagen area. For containerised consignments, Aarhus and Copenhagen-Malmö Port (CMP) are the stronger options.
