About This Seaport
On the Djursland peninsula at the mouth of the Kattegat, Grenaa is one of Denmark's most central deepwater ports, with about 2,500 m of quay, alongside depths up to 11 m and more than 1.4 million m² of land. Once a fishing port, it has reinvented itself around the offshore wind industry, offering turbine storage and pre-assembly areas, a jack-up zone with reinforced seabed, twin-lift cranes up to 250 tonnes and green shore power at the berth. Bulk and project cargo make up much of the throughput, and recycling plants operate within the port estate. Stena Line has linked Grenaa with Halmstad in Sweden for decades, alongside the island ferry to Anholt. Container liner traffic, however, is handled at Aarhus, the nearest alternative for boxed shipments.
