About This Seaport
Oversized fuselage and wing sections rolling from quay to rail tell you at once what kind of port Everett is. Sitting about 25 miles north of Seattle, it is the region's premier breakbulk and project-cargo facility, handling outsized aerospace parts for Boeing's 767, 777, 777X and KC-Tanker programmes – the manufacturer accounts for roughly 30 percent of cargo value. The Pacific Terminal provides some 650 feet of usable berth at 12 metres alongside, two 40-tonne gantry cranes and mobile harbour cranes up to 150 tonnes. Beyond aerospace, it serves military, construction, agriculture and forest-product cargoes, and has added container cranes to build a modest box business. Rail and the nearby Interstate network handle inland distribution. For mainstream container liner calls, however, Seattle and Tacoma under the Northwest Seaport Alliance remain the primary options.
