Turbine blades line the quays at Cuxhaven (DE CUX), where the Elbe meets the North Sea and offshore wind has become a defining business. The port concentrates on two strengths: roll-on/roll-off traffic through the Cuxport terminal, with two ramps and five berths, and offshore wind logistics, handling around 4,500 turbine components a year. For pure container volumes or large car-handling operations, Bremerhaven and Hamburg are the natural alternatives, with Emden a further offshore-wind option.
