Criehaven is best described as a seasonal lobstering settlement rather than a commercial port, set on Ragged Island in outer Penobscot Bay off the Maine coast. Its harbour is tiny, with a granite bottom and moorings instead of anchorage, used by a handful of lobster-fishing families in summer and uninhabited in winter. There is no container, general-cargo or customs activity, so freight relevance for forwarders is very limited. Supplies and the lobster catch move by small boat to the mainland, with Rockland the nearest commercial port.
