About This Seaport
At the mouth of the Northern Dvina, some 50 kilometres from the White Sea's Dvina Bay, Arkhangelsk marks the western gateway of the Northern Sea Route. Its cargo mix is dominated by timber, pulp, lumber, coal, metals, machinery and fish, and it remains Russia's busiest timber-exporting port. The port runs the only container terminal in the Russian Arctic alongside three further cargo terminals for breakbulk and bulk.
