In the Mehedinți region of south-western Romania, near the Danube and the Iron Gates, this airfield at Ștefan Odobleja outside Drobeta-Turnu Severin serves light and general aviation only. There are no scheduled flights, no freight handling and no customs office, so it has no role in air cargo. Shipments from the region go through Craiova (CRA) and, for larger volumes, Timișoara Traian Vuia (TSR) or Bucharest Henri Coandă (OTP).
