ORK Airport (Cork Airport) – Cargo, Address, Transit

About This Airport

Swissport runs the air-cargo terminal at Cork Airport (IATA: ORK, ICAO: EICK), offering general and special cargo, a Pharma Center for temperature-controlled GDP shipments and perishables handling for southern Ireland's pharmaceutical and medical-device industry. The airport recorded its busiest year ever in 2025 with 3.46 million passengers, confirming its position as Ireland's second largest and the aviation hub for the south and south-west; March 2026 brought 252,326 passengers, one per cent above the same month a year earlier. No dedicated freighters operate here: cargo moves as belly freight on Aer Lingus and Ryanair services to Britain and continental Europe, with Aer Lingus offering onward North American connections via Dublin. Under the roughly €200 million redevelopment programme, a Swissport cargo hangar is earmarked for conversion into two passenger gates, so forwarders should watch how warehouse capacity develops on site. The airport lies about 8 km south of Cork city on the N27, with trucking links to the Port of Cork at Ringaskiddy for multimodal shipments. Larger volumes and freighter capacity route via Dublin (DUB, some 250 km north-east) or Shannon (SNN, about 130 km north-west).
