Four Seasons, not a scheduled airline, drives what happens at Caye Chapel Airport (CYC/MZCC): the strip serves a 280-acre private island between Belize City and the northern barrier reef that is being developed into a resort and residences community. Airstrip, heliport and marina are the island's three access points, with Maya Island Air listing Caye Chapel as an on-demand domestic destination rather than a fixed scheduled route. Flying time from Belize City is around eight minutes; the boat transfer takes about 30 minutes. The airport has no cargo terminal, no freight handling and no customs post, so construction material and supplies reach the island by sea and urgent items travel as accompanied baggage. The 104-key hotel with golf course has slipped repeatedly and is now expected to open in the third quarter of 2027. All air freight for Belize is cleared at Philip S. W. Goldson International (BZE) near Ladyville, with San Pedro (SPR) as the nearest alternative domestic field.
