A single runway, 13/31, is the whole of the airside infrastructure at Bitam Airport (BMM/FOOB) in Gabon's far north, close to the Cameroonian and Equatorial Guinean borders. It serves Woleu-Ntem province, a cocoa and timber region, as a purely regional field: no cargo terminal, no bonded warehouse for air freight, no resident freight carrier. Whatever air cargo arises travels as belly load on irregular regional services, which makes it unsuitable for planned shipments. Scheduled air freight is handled instead at Léon-Mba International in Libreville (LBV), roughly 600 kilometres to the south-west, where handling, customs and intercontinental connections come together. Oyem (OYE) is the nearest alternative field about 60 km to the south, while the border position means some shippers look to Douala (DLA) in Cameroon as a gateway. Road access runs on the N2 towards Libreville and through the Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea crossings, which carry the modest cross-border trade.
