Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc. is a United States all-cargo airline headquartered at 1 North Lexington Avenue, White Plains, New York. It operates under IATA designator PO, ICAO code PAC and the callsign POLAR; air waybills carry the AWB prefix 403. The company has belonged to Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings since 2001. Between 2007 and 2025, DHL Express held a 49 percent equity interest, securing capacity on Polar's freighter services. That partnership ended in 2025, when Atlas Air Worldwide acquired the remaining equity and Polar became a wholly owned subsidiary. Operating model: Polar flies Boeing freighters only. As of 24 November 2025 the carrier's own fleet page lists the Boeing 747-8F and Boeing 777F; it publishes no unit numbers, so that field is left empty here. Flight operations are complemented by the carrier's own road services: scheduled less-than-truckload, exclusive-use vehicles and the Direct Delivery Service, which moves cargo straight into an approved bonded warehouse. Network: the most recent schedule published by the carrier (Summer 2025, effective 30 March 2025) shows a clear transpacific focus. It names PVG, SZX, CTU, ICN, NRT, NGO, TPE, CVG and LAX as gateways. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) is the American node, Anchorage (ANC) serves as a technical stop. European traffic runs on an interline basis with AeroLogic and DHL Air to Leipzig/Halle. What matters for forwarders: the commercial offer changed after the joint venture ended. The carrier itself states that the airline continues to provide airline operations in some locations for certain services. No newer schedule is available, so bookings and capacity should be confirmed case by case with Polar or Atlas Air. Shipment tracking, the claims portal and the TACT tariff remain available on the carrier's own domain.
