National Airlines is the airline arm of the US-based National group and trades under IATA code N8, ICAO code NCR and AWB prefix 416. The legal operator is National Air Cargo Group, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The US Department of Transportation lists the company in its register of certificated air carriers as an active operator holding charter and scheduled rights; the callsign is NATIONAL CARGO. The parent company is National Air Cargo Holdings, Inc., which also owns the freight forwarder National Air Cargo, Inc. Forwarder and airline are separate companies and should not be confused. The business model is charter, not scheduled service. National Airlines sells full charters, ACMI and CMI capacity as well as defence and relief flights and states that it serves more than 450 airports worldwide. The company participates in the US Department of Defense Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) programme and holds an FAA Part 121 operating certificate. As of 24 August 2026 the fleet comprises nine Boeing 747-400 freighters, of which six are 747-400BCF and three are 747-400F and 747-400ERF aircraft, plus four Boeing 777-200F. The four 777 freighters stem from a 2024 order and were delivered during 2026; the last aircraft, N798CA, was handed over at Everett on 24 August 2026. Three passenger aircraft complete the fleet, one Airbus A330-300 and two A330-200. Two points matter for forwarders: National holds its own AWB prefix 416 and runs its own shipment tracking by MAWB, HAWB or reference number. The carrier does not, however, publish fixed scheduled stations; bookings run through the charter sales teams and the round-the-clock Systems Operations Centre in Orlando.
