Cargolux Italia S.p.A. is the Italian all-cargo airline of the Cargolux group, headquartered in Vizzola Ticino directly next to Milan Malpensa Airport. The company was founded in December 2008 and started operations in June 2009. It holds its own Italian air operator certificate under number IT.AOC.0136, issued by the Direzione Territoriale Milano of the Italian civil aviation authority ENAC, which makes it an operator in its own right rather than a mere sales brand. Italia Aerologistic Srl holds 60 percent of the shares and Cargolux Airlines International S.A. holds 40 percent. Cargolux Italia operates freighters only. According to the company, the fleet consists of four Boeing 747-400 freighters registered LX-VCV "Monviso", LX-UCV "Tre Cime di Lavaredo", LX-WCV "Monte Cervino" and LX-YCV "Monte Rosa", as of September 2026. The company employs around 130 ground staff and crew. The hub is Milan Malpensa, which handles roughly three quarters of Italy's air cargo. From there the carrier serves, by its own account, destinations including Hong Kong, Tokyo Narita and Zhengzhou. For forwarders: the designators are IATA C8 and ICAO ICV, the AWB prefix is 356. Cargolux Airlines International S.A. acts as worldwide General Cargo Sales Agent for the Italian subsidiary, so booking, tariffs and shipment tracking run through the Cargolux platform. The company states that the full Cargolux product portfolio - CV classic, CV pharma, CV fresh, CV alive, CV hazmat, CV jumbo, CV precious and CV power - as well as the Saver, Standard, Select and Select+ service levels are also offered by Cargolux Italia.
