All nine dangerous goods classes are prohibited in principle. Only individual UN numbers are accepted: UN3481, UN3091, UN1845 dry ice, UN3373 biological substance category B, UN3245 GMO/GMMO and UN2807 magnetised material, in part only with a booking confirmation.
Amazon Air Cargo is the air freight brand of Amazon.com Services LLC, a company within the Amazon.com, Inc. group. The legal standing is what matters most to forwarders: Amazon is not an airline itself. In its own Service Terms, revised 20 October 2025, the company states explicitly that Amazon is not an air carrier and that it provides transport by contracting with air carriers that operate the aircraft. The site footer describes Amazon.com Services LLC (d/b/a Amazon Air Cargo) as an Indirect Air Carrier and names ATI, ABX Air, 21 Air, Sun Country Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Cargojet, ASL and Quickjet as the operating partners. No IATA designator, ICAO designator or AWB prefix of its own can be documented from primary sources. The carrier states more than 100 aircraft and more than 250 flights per day, seven days a week, using Boeing 737, Boeing 767 and Airbus A330 equipment. Capacity is sold within North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia, plus international charters. Self-service online booking through the Supply Chain by Amazon console currently covers shipments within the United States including Puerto Rico only; all other lanes run through the sales team or booking-cargo@amazon.com. The main node is the Amazon Air Hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), in operation since 11 August 2021, 800,000 square feet in size and built at a cost of 1.5 billion US dollars. On the West Coast, San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) has served as a regional hub since April 2021. Operating limits are tight: of the nine dangerous goods classes only individual UN numbers are accepted, Amazon explicitly provides no temperature-controlled storage, loose cargo pieces may not exceed 150 pounds, packages may not exceed 1,000 kilograms, and liability is capped at 26 Special Drawing Rights per kilogram. Since 6 April 2026 Amazon Air Cargo has applied a fuel surcharge based on the weekly jet fuel index of the US Energy Information Administration.
