ABX Air, Inc. is a United States cargo airline based at Wilmington Air Park (ILN) in Wilmington, Ohio. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (ATSG), which has been owned by the infrastructure investor Stonepeak since April 2025. ABX Air holds its own FAR Part 121 air carrier certificate and is listed by the U.S. Department of Transportation as a cargo-only carrier with domestic and foreign scheduled authority (as of 18 June 2025). The business model is contract flying only. ABX Air supplies aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI), operates CMI contracts on customer-owned aircraft, and flies full charters. The company does not run a line network that forwarders can book, and it does not act as a selling airline in the market. According to its own statements, its main customers come from the express and e-commerce sectors and include the U.S. government. ABX Air has flown for DHL since August 2003; the leasing and CMI agreements with DHL Network Operations (USA) were extended to April 2028 in February 2022 and expanded to twelve Boeing 767 freighters. An ACMI relationship with Amazon has existed since 2015. The fleet consists exclusively of converted Boeing 767s. The ATSG fact sheet of 14 July 2025 lists 25 Boeing 767-300 and 8 Boeing 767-200, a total of 33 freighters; the airline's undated fleet page states 26 and 7 aircraft with the same total. For forwarders: IATA lists ABX Air under designator GB, ICAO code ABX and airline code 832, which serves as the air waybill prefix. The airline runs no shipment tracking of its own - the official website contains no tracking function. Shipment information comes from the respective contracting party, not from ABX Air.
