Unlike an individual data component, a WCO Data Model Class groups several related data elements into a structured business object. Typical classes include 'Party' (covering fields for importer, exporter, or customs representative), 'Consignment', or 'Document' (for customs declarations and accompanying papers). Each class defines which fields are mandatory, which are optional, how often entries may repeat, and how the class relates to other classes within the model.
