Abandonment of Cargo

Abandonment of cargo refers to the voluntary relinquishment of rights to goods by the shipper or consignee when they fail to claim or clear the cargo within a specified timeframe. The carrier is then entitled to dispose of or sell the cargo to recoup incurred charges.
