Resumen
Saint Lucia (ISO code: LC) is an island state in the Eastern Caribbean, part of the Lesser Antilles, south of Martinique and north-east of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It is a parliamentary democracy and a member of the Commonwealth, CARICOM, the OECS and the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. The climate is tropical with a rainy season from June to November. The economy is built on tourism, agriculture, fisheries and services, with bananas the leading export, while energy, consumer and industrial goods are largely imported. Logistically the country relies on its seaports (Castries and Vieux Fort) and airports (Hewanorra International and George F. L. Charles), which secure cargo and passenger flows and limited regional transit functions. The currency is the East Caribbean dollar (XCD), pegged to the US dollar.
