Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services es la división de carga de Ethiopian Airlines Group, propiedad al 100 por ciento del Estado etíope. La sociedad fue fundada el 21 de diciembre de 1945 e inició operaciones el 8 de abril de 1946 con cinco DC-3; su sede se encuentra en el aeropuerto internacional de Bole, en Adís Abeba. A ello se suma la capacidad en bodega de más de 145 aviones de pasajeros con una edad media de unos siete años. Red: Adís Abeba (ADD) es el centro de operaciones principal y alberga una terminal de carga altamente automatizada con una capacidad anual de un millón de toneladas. Desde allí Ethiopian atiende 70 destinos cargueros dedicados y más de 145 destinos de pasajeros y carga en África, Oriente Medio, Asia, Europa y América, de los cuales más de 60 son ciudades africanas. El volumen diario medio supera las 2'000 toneladas. Los puntos fuertes de la red carguera europea son Lieja, Bruselas, Madrid, Estambul y East Midlands, y en Asia Hong Kong, Shanghái, Cantón, Shenzhen y Zhengzhou. Códigos y documentación: Ethiopian opera con el designador IATA ET, el designador OACI ETH y el prefijo AWB 071. Los conocimientos aéreos se emiten en el formato 071-XXXXXXXX. Relevante para los transitarios: Ethiopian fue la primera aerolínea africana en obtener la certificación IATA CEIV Pharma en 2022 y la recertificó en enero de 2025 tanto como aerolínea como agente de handling. El cierre de aceptación en Adís Abeba es de ocho horas antes de la salida para carga seca y de cinco horas para perecederos. El límite de responsabilidad es de 17 DEG por kilogramo; las reclamaciones deben presentarse en un plazo de 14 días naturales.
