Cool Chain
Temperature-controlled product with active container leasing (RAP t2, RKN t2, PAP e2, RKN e1, Releye RAP, Releye RLP) and temperature-controlled storage from minus 20 to plus 25 degrees Celsius at more than 50 stations. Shipments must be tendered pre-cooled and only one temperature range is allowed per air waybill.
China Airlines Cargo es la división de carga de la taiwanesa China Airlines Ltd. y opera con el código IATA CI, el código OACI CAL y el prefijo AWB 297. La sociedad fue fundada el 16 de diciembre de 1959, cotiza en bolsa desde el 26 de febrero de 1993 y tiene su sede en Taoyuan City, junto al aeropuerto de Taiwan Taoyuan. A diferencia de las marcas puramente comerciales, China Airlines opera sus propios aviones cargueros. Al 31 de agosto de 2026 la flota del grupo suma 84 aeronaves, de las cuales 18 son cargueros: ocho Boeing 747-400F y diez Boeing 777F. A ello se añade la capacidad de bodega de 66 aviones de pasajeros de los tipos A350-900, A330-300, A321neo, Boeing 777-300ER y 737-800. Hay cuatro Boeing 777-8F pedidos. El hub es Taiwan Taoyuan International (TPE). La red cubre 176 destinos en 30 países; varios puntos se sirven únicamente con carguero, entre ellos Luxemburgo, Dubai World Central, Anchorage, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Toronto, Bombay y Delhi. Según la propia compañía, China Airlines es la única aerolínea taiwanesa que opera cargueros hacia Europa, América y Asia; las rotaciones europeas aprovechan escalas en Oriente Medio y en India para cargar en dos tramos. En los tres primeros trimestres de 2025 los ingresos de carga del grupo alcanzaron 48,5 mil millones de TWD, un 13,7 por ciento más, con un coeficiente de ocupación del 66,6 por ciento. Relevante para los transitarios: el transportista dispone de prefijo AWB propio 297 y tramita el e-AWB según el IATA Single Process, pero solo acepta envíos prepagados; el flete debido no es posible en el procedimiento e-AWB. El tráfico con temperatura controlada se canaliza por el producto Cool Chain, con contenedores activos y almacenes termorregulados en más de 50 estaciones. Mercancías peligrosas y animales vivos se gestionan como productos especiales separados.
