Atlas Air states that its Miami-based South America scheduled network moves more than 100 million kilograms of cargo a year. The timetable effective 9 March 2026 shows around 20 rotations a week out of Miami.

Atlas Air, Inc., con sede en White Plains, en el estado de Nueva York, es una aerolínea de carga y el transportista operativo principal de Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. Desde el 17 de marzo de 2023 el grupo pertenece a un consorcio de inversores liderado por Apollo, junto con J.F. Lehman & Company y Hill City Capital; la operación valoró la empresa en unos 5,2 mil millones de dólares y puso fin a su cotización en el Nasdaq. Atlas Air fue fundada en 1992 por Michael Chowdry e inició operaciones con un único Boeing 747-200 convertido desde Nueva York JFK. El modelo de negocio se basa en gran medida en la externalización: contratos ACMI y CMI, vuelos chárter ad hoc y de programa, misiones militares y humanitarias, así como chárteres de pasajeros. Atlas Air explota además su propia red regular hacia Sudamérica desde Miami, por la que según el transportista circulan más de 100 millones de kilogramos de carga al año: flores, fruta y otros perecederos, pero también maquinaria y materiales de construcción. El horario vigente desde el 9 de marzo de 2026 conecta Miami con Bogotá, Quito, Manaus, Campinas, São Paulo, Río de Janeiro, Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Medellín y San Juan; los derechos de quinta libertad permiten asimismo servicios dentro de Sudamérica. La flota comprende los tipos Boeing 747-8F, 747-400F, 777-200F, 767-300BCF/BDSF y 737-300F/-400/-800F (estado septiembre de 2026). El 16 de marzo de 2026 Atlas Air Worldwide firmó un pedido en firme de 20 Airbus A350F con opciones para otros 20; las entregas están previstas entre 2029 y 2034. Para los transitarios: Atlas Air opera con el código IATA 5Y, el designador OACI GTI y el prefijo AWB 369. El transportista no acepta envíos a portes debidos ni ofrece un seguro de transporte propio. La carga valiosa a partir de 1'000 dólares por kilogramo exige un aviso previo de 24 horas y los valores declarados superiores a 10'000 dólares una autorización escrita previa de la central.
