A.P. Moller Capital is entering into a partnership with port and terminal operator Euroports. The investor has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the company. Belgian shareholders SFPIM and PMV are expected to remain as stakeholders following the completion of the transaction.
Euroports operates more than 50 seaport and inland waterway terminal facilities across ten European countries and China. According to the company, over 70 million tonnes of cargo are handled annually. This includes bulk cargo, forest products, metals, agricultural goods, and project cargo. The network employs approximately 3,000 staff members.
Important for customers: The purchase has been agreed upon but has not yet been completed. Standard conditions and potential regulatory approvals must be fulfilled before the closing. Therefore, no automatic changes to existing handling contracts or terminal operations are expected in the short term.
In the medium term, the new majority owner can provide capital for facilities, storage areas, rail connections, and automation. A.P. Moller Capital invests long-term in infrastructure. However, no specific expansion projects or price changes were announced with this notification.
Manuport Logistics, the logistics division belonging to Euroports, is to be continued. For freight forwarders, it remains critical whether contact persons, tariffs, or capacities at individual locations will change.
