About This Seaport
A marina, a deep-water basin, a ferry terminal and moorings for some 450 small craft make up the port of Porto Vecchio in southern Corsica. Established as a commercial port in 1974, it provides year-round passenger and cargo links to mainland France. Services run to Marseille, Toulon and Nice, plus Italian ports such as Golfo Aranci, Porto Torres and Savona, operated by Corsica Linea, La Méridionale and Corsica Ferries. The commercial role centres on ro-ro traffic and supply freight for southern Corsica; large-scale container liner service is not confirmed. The regional hinterland is served by road. For heavier freight volumes into Corsica, Bastia and Ajaccio are the more important calls.
