About This Seaport
Two specialised berths define Pacific Coast Terminals at Port Moody: Berth 1 handles liquid products while Berth 2, fitted with conveyors and a shiploader, loads sulphur and other dry solids. Sitting on the southwest shore of Burrard Inlet about 19 km east of downtown Vancouver, the facility is part of the Vancouver port gateway and works almost entirely for export. It moves up to six million tonnes of dry bulk (sulphur, potash) and 1.5 million tonnes of bulk liquids (canola oil, ethylene glycol) across more than 180 vessels a year. There is no container handling; this is a dedicated bulk operation. Commodities arrive by rail from Western Canada and are stored on site until direct vessel loading. Containerised freight should be routed through Vancouver's container terminals (Centerm, Vanterm, Deltaport), with Vancouver Wharves a further option for sulphur.
