About This Seaport
As a working cargo port, Old Kilpatrick (GB OKK) effectively no longer exists. The site on the north bank of the River Clyde, about ten miles downstream of Glasgow near the Erskine Bridge, served as a naval fuel depot and later an oil storage terminal before being decommissioned in 1992. It has stood idle since and is being redeveloped by the Malin Group for marine engineering rather than cargo handling. Forwarders should treat its freight relevance as minimal and route containers and general cargo through Clydeport — the King George V Dock in Glasgow and the Greenock Ocean Terminal.
