More an industrial and ship-repair centre than a commercial cargo gateway, Menzel Bourguiba is built around four dry docks and some 50 ha of yards on Lake Bizerte. As part of the Bizerte–Menzel Bourguiba multipurpose port, it chiefly handles dry bulk — coal, minerals, steel and zinc — alongside its repair and fabrication work.
