About This Seaport
Operating since 1913, the privately run Bekker Port (Bekkeri sadam) sits in the Kopli district of Tallinn, on Kopli Bay within the wider Tallinn Bay. It is a multipurpose cargo facility handling dry bulk, breakbulk and containers, and in principle all categories of goods. Its four berths spread across roughly 336,000 m² can take vessels of up to about 30,000 dwt, with recorded throughput in the order of half a million tonnes a year. Ice-class conditions keep the port navigable year-round, an important point in the Gulf of Finland. Road and rail links tie it into the Tallinn metropolitan area. For larger container volumes or major RoRo and ferry flows, forwarders turn to nearby Muuga (Port of Tallinn) or Paldiski, leaving Bekker well suited to niche and project cargo in the Baltic.
