Two LNG storage tanks holding roughly 250,000 m³ in total, fed by three unloading arms rated at 10,000 m³ per hour, define the Andres terminal at Boca Chica — a private LNG import facility east of Santo Domingo rather than a general cargo port. Commissioned in February 2003 alongside the AES Andres power station, it supplies that plant and a national gas pipeline; a later expansion added a second tank (about 120,000 m³) to the original 160,000 m³ unit. Containers, breakbulk and consolidated freight are not handled here; shippers moving such cargo to the Dominican Republic use the nearby DP World Caucedo terminal instead.
