About This Seaport
On Flores Island in Clayoquot Sound, off the west coast of Vancouver Island, Ahousat is the main village of the Ahousaht First Nation, reachable only by water taxi or floatplane from Tofino. There is no road access and no commercial cargo infrastructure: supplies arrive by small boats and occasional freight runs rather than through any container, breakbulk or bulk terminal. For freight forwarders the port has effectively no commercial relevance. Regular ocean cargo for the area is handled at Port Alberni or Nanaimo.
