Jazeera Airways K.S.C.P. is a Kuwaiti low-cost carrier based at Kuwait International Airport (KWI). Founded in April 2004 as the first privately held airline in the Middle East, it started operations in 2005 and is the only airline listed on Boursa Kuwait. Under the Jazeera Air Cargo brand it sells belly capacity on its passenger fleet only; it operates no freighter aircraft of its own. The fleet comprises 22 Airbus A320 family aircraft, A320ceo and A320neo, as of August 2026. A further 26 aircraft from the orderbook, 18 A320neo and 8 A321neo, are due from late 2026 onwards. According to the company the network covers more than 70 destinations across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa and Europe; additions in 2026 included Milan Bergamo, Aleppo and Addis Ababa. Kuwait is the only hub, where Jazeera runs Terminal 5, a terminal it designed, built and operates itself. For forwarders: shipments move under AWB prefix 486, the designators are J9 (IATA) and JZR (ICAO). Booking does not run through an online portal but through the carrier's cargo agents and sales offices; for a quotation the carrier asks for commodity, weight, dimensions, delivery date and routing. The product range covers general cargo, perishables, an express courier product, unaccompanied baggage, human remains and dangerous goods handled in line with IATA and ICAO regulations. No proprietary online shipment tracking portal is discoverable on the website; tracing, documentation and claims handling run through the carrier's cargo team. Operations were heavily disrupted in 2026: after the temporary closure of Kuwait International Airport from 28 February 2026 Jazeera maintained services via Saudi Arabia from 11 March and returned to Terminal 5 on 3 May 2026.
