ASL Airlines Belgium is a Belgian cargo airline with its head office and home base at Liège Airport (LGG) in Grâce-Hollogne. The company belongs to the Irish group ASL Aviation Holdings, headquartered in Swords near Dublin. It was founded in 1999 as TNT Airways; in May 2016 ASL Aviation Holdings acquired the airline operations of TNT Express and renamed the carrier ASL Airlines Belgium. At the same time it signed a multi-year service agreement with the newly formed FedEx-TNT combination. The business rests on two pillars. Using Boeing 737 freighters, ASL Airlines Belgium serves the European FedEx-TNT network out of the Eurohub at Liège; the airline itself describes this contract business as its main activity. Alongside this it operates widebody Boeing 747-400ERF freighters on long-haul services under its own brand and for integrator customers, serving destinations in China, Japan and the United States. Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) forms a second European focus. Beyond its own fleet, the company also manages capacity provided by third-party carriers for the European network.
