ANA Cargo Inc. is the cargo company of Japan's ANA Group and a wholly owned subsidiary of ANA Holdings Inc. It was established on 1 October 2013 and started operations on 1 April 2014; its head office is in the Shiodome City Center in Minato-ku, Tokyo. ANA Cargo is responsible for cargo strategy, product development, marketing and sales as well as cargo handling at the airports. The company does not hold its own air operator certificate: the flights are operated by All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., whose designators NH (IATA) and ANA (ICAO) and whose AWB prefix 205 appear on the air waybills. The offering combines freighters and belly capacity. According to group figures, ANA operated six Boeing 767 and two Boeing 777 freighters in August 2025, complemented by the belly capacity of the international and Japanese domestic scheduled network, which was most recently extended to Milan (December 2024), Stockholm and Istanbul (both early 2025). The central hub is Tokyo Narita, where "ANA Cargo Base +", the group's largest cargo warehouse, consolidated six previously scattered facilities in October 2024. The Naha night hub on Okinawa has concentrated intra-Asian traffic since 2009. For forwarders the relevant specialities are the PRIO range for pharmaceuticals, temperature-controlled, shock-sensitive and vehicle shipments, plus export customs clearance at 18 regional airports in Japan. ANA was the first Japanese airline to obtain IATA CEIV Pharma certification at Narita in 2017 and, on 24 December 2024, the first Japanese carrier to receive CEIV certification for lithium batteries; a CEIV Fresh certification is also held. The structure is being reshaped: Nippon Cargo Airlines has belonged to the ANA Group since 1 August 2025. On 27 March 2026 ANA Holdings announced the merger of Nippon Cargo Airlines, NCA Japan and ANA Cargo into a single entity; effective 1 April 2027 Nippon Cargo Airlines will continue as the operating company with its own air transport business licence and AOC.
