Air Canada Cargo is the freight division of Air Canada and not a separate airline: every flight operates under Air Canada's own air operator certificate. The parent company is headquartered in Montréal and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker AC. For forwarders this keeps matters simple — booking, air waybill and tracking all run on the parent's identifiers: IATA code AC, ICAO designator ACA, AWB prefix 014. The operating model combines belly capacity with a small dedicated freighter fleet. Six Boeing 767 freighters were in service as at 31 March 2026. Alongside them sits the belly capacity of a 225-aircraft passenger network serving 50 Canadian and 50 US airports plus 111 international destinations across six continents. Air Canada Cargo describes itself as Canada's largest air cargo provider measured by cargo capacity and states a presence in more than 50 countries (as at July 2026). The carrier runs self-handled cargo hubs at six locations: Toronto Pearson (YYZ) as the primary global hub, Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) as the gateway to France and continental Europe, Vancouver (YVR) as the Pacific gateway, and Chicago O'Hare (ORD), London Heathrow (LHR) and Frankfurt (FRA). Self-handling matters most for temperature-controlled traffic, because acceptance, storage and loading stay under one roof. The product range covers the usual special segments: AC Pharmacair and AC Absolute for temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, AC Fresh for perishables, AC Animals for live animals, AC DGR for dangerous goods, AC Secure for valuables, AC Compassion for human remains, AC eCommerce and AC Mail for postal and parcel traffic, and AC Expedair as an express service within Canada. Note that group subsidiary Air Canada Rouge also documents under prefix 014, but with IATA code RV.
