Unlike traditional LCL consolidation, where a physical terminal serves as the point of groupage, internet freight consolidation systems perform the matching digitally before any physical handling takes place: shippers register partial loads on a platform, and an algorithm groups compatible consignments by destination region, time window and hazard class into virtual full-truck or full-container loads.
