The inbound ADR check is carried out by freight forwarders and warehouse managers when accepting road consignments of dangerous goods, verifying compliance with the ADR – the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. Inspectors confirm that UN numbers, hazard labels, packing groups, and transport documents are correct and complete. Any non-conformity results in the shipment being placed on hold and the sender notified; compliant loads are cleared for storage or onward transit. Conducting this check is not only a legal obligation under ADR but also a critical step in limiting liability exposure in the event of an incident.
