The Hague Rules (1924) are an international maritime law convention that unifies the carrier's liability for loss or damage to goods carried by sea under a bill of lading, establishing limits of liability, burdens of proof, exemptions and exceptions, applicable to ocean carriage (often amended by the Hague-Visby Rules).
