Shipping lines, ship agents, and port operators submit vessel arrival notices, crew lists, cargo manifests, and security declarations once through a harmonized national interface, with the data automatically distributed to border control, customs, port authority, and health services. Parallel data entry across separate agency portals is eliminated, berth waiting times shorten, and the administrative burden on agents and operators falls substantially. The legal basis is the EU regulation establishing the single window environment for maritime transport, which sets uniform system requirements across all member states.
