Unlike routine customs inspections, denied-party screening is a preventive compliance responsibility shouldered by the exporting company itself: before shipment, the exporter must check all transaction parties—buyer, supplier, freight forwarder, bank—against OFAC, EU, UN, and national sanctions lists.
