A freight forwarding contract is an agreement under which the freight forwarder undertakes, for a fee, to organize, arrange, coordinate, and carry out transportation and, if applicable, warehousing and other forwarding services for the client. The forwarder acts as an intermediary and coordinator, not as the actual carrier of the goods.
