A customs agent is a service provider authorised by customs authorities to carry out import and export formalities on behalf of importers and exporters. Customs agents prepare and submit customs declarations, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, classify goods under the correct tariff headings, calculate duties and taxes, and facilitate the clearance of goods through customs.
