Cold storage inventory turnover refers to the controlled inbound and outbound movement of temperature-sensitive goods within a refrigerated facility under continuous temperature and humidity monitoring. Because shelf life and product integrity for foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, and other perishables depend directly on storage duration, FIFO (First In, First Out) is the standard rotation method: older batches leave before newer ones. Temperature, humidity, and dwell time are recorded without interruption to satisfy food safety and pharmaceutical regulations and to minimise shrinkage from quality degradation. Unlike ambient warehouse turnover, cold storage demands tight coordination between goods receipt, slot allocation, and order picking—any cold chain break risks product rejection or costly recalls.
