When preparing a hazardous materials shipment for dispatch, the carrier or freight forwarder must have on file a valid approval certificate confirming that the packaging, container, or vehicle used meets the design and performance requirements of the applicable dangerous goods regulations—ADR, the IMDG Code, or IATA-DGR.
