The MAWB (Master Air Waybill) is issued by the airline to the freight forwarder. The HAWB (House Air Waybill) is issued by the freight forwarder to the shipper. In groupage/consolidation shipments, multiple HAWBs are grouped under one MAWB. The shipper receives the HAWB; the MAWB is an airline document.
