A warehouse movement register is the chronological log of all goods receipts, dispatches, and internal stock relocations within a storage facility, recording item code, quantity, timestamp, location, and reason for each transaction. Logistics operators and warehouse keepers maintain this register—in a WMS or on paper—as the authoritative evidence trail for every inventory change. When stock discrepancies arise, customer claims are filed, or regulatory inspections take place, the register provides the primary documentary basis for resolution. It should not be confused with inventory accounting ledgers: the movement register is an operational record of physical goods flows, not a financial posting.
