SFTP-based EDI connectivity is a method for the secure exchange of standardized trade data, in which EDI messages – such as purchase orders, invoices, or dispatch advices in UN/EDIFACT or ANSI X12 format – are packaged as encrypted files and transmitted between trading partners via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).
